The ocean’s second monster is in the game. The Kraken is confirmed playable as of late September 2026 — not through a patch note, but through the official Discord #questions channel, where players started asking how to get “the kraken stuff” and the team answered. Everything verified so far is below; anything still unknown is labeled as such.
What’s confirmed so far
- The Kraken is live and killable. Asked how to get the Kraken items (late September), a team member’s answer in the official Discord was two words: “kill kraken.”
- It shipped with an update. The official account’s own reaction in the same channel — “wait kraken got released?” followed by “that’s the update ig” (October 1) — confirms the Kraken arrived with a game update. The exact release date was never announced; no patch note has named it.
- It drops Kraken Tentacles. Players hunt the Kraken for Kraken Tentacles, a crafting material, and it is a grind, not a handout — one player reported two tentacles in the bank against the ten he needs.
- Tentacles craft three Kraken items. Per a player answer in the official Discord (October 1): the Kraken Crossbow, the Kraken Turret and the Kraken Sniper.
Kraken Tentacles
The tentacle is the only Kraken drop anyone has reported so far, and it is the material every Kraken item is built from. Two data points from the official Discord set expectations:
- A player chasing ten tentacles had two after a stretch of hunting (September 30) — drops are not a guaranteed one-per-kill payout.
- The working assumption in chat puts a Kraken item at roughly ten tentacles [community estimate] — so plan for a multi-session grind per craft.
Exact drop rates and per-kill yields: not published anywhere.
The Kraken crafting tree
Three Kraken items are named by players in the official Discord. None has published stats or an official recipe yet:
- Kraken Crossbow — a held weapon by the natural read of the name and usage.
- Kraken Sniper — same read: a held weapon.
- Kraken Turret — a raft-mounted defense; once stats surface it slots into the turrets guide.
Treat all three as unranked until real numbers exist — the weapons tier list and the defense tier list only rank items with observed raid results, and the Kraken set is days old.
When does the Kraken spawn?
Nobody knows officially — it is the community’s top open question right now. “When does kraken spawn” went unanswered in the official Discord (September 30), and there is no confirmed spawn trigger, location or schedule. When an official answer or a reproducible pattern surfaces, it lands in the update log first and this page second.
