Updates
Build and Defend Your Raft updates
The patch timeline: promised Saturday content drops, midweek updates and daily hotfixes, assembled from the official Discord announcements and the Roblox API.
The developer ships new updates every Saturday (promised in the official description) plus near-daily hotfixes, but publishes no changelog page. This timeline is assembled from the official Discord #announcements and #leaks channels, the official Roblox badges API and the games API "updated" timestamp. Entries marked "inferred" rest on indirect evidence and await in-game confirmation.
Full timeline
Quiet build ships — no announcement
The Roblox games API shows the live build's "updated" timestamp moving to 2026-10-01T13:25:50Z, two days after the first Kraken sightings. The official Discord #announcements channel stays silent — its last message is the September 12 inventory rollback — so no patch notes were published for this build. Nothing in it beyond the Kraken content already covered in the September 29 entry has been detailed by the developer.
Kraken goes live — confirmed via Discord Q&A
No announcement named it, but the Kraken is confirmed playable as of late September 2026 via the official Discord #questions channel: asked how to get "the kraken stuff," a team member answered "kill kraken" (September 29), and the official account's own "wait kraken got released?" / "that's the update ig" exchange (October 1) confirms it shipped with an update. Per players farming it, the Kraken drops Kraken Tentacles — the crafting material for the Kraken Crossbow, Kraken Turret and Kraken Sniper — and it is a repeatable grind, not a one-time boss. The exact release date, spawn trigger and item stats remain unconfirmed. Full breakdown in the site's Kraken guide.
Version rolled back — Inventory bug
Official Discord announcement (valtukins, 2026-09-12): "I've identified a bug with the Inventory system, have to move the game version back until it is fixed. Will be back as soon as this is patched." The live build was rolled back to an earlier version until the fix ships, so parts of the September 6 inventory rework may be unavailable in the meantime (not officially detailed).
First code ever — BIGBITE
The developer posts the game's first promo code in the official #codes channel: BIGBITE redeems 50 wood and 50 metal, released the same day as the September 6 content update.
Biggest update yet — Mortar, Tesla Coil, Blueprints, Shark Head
The Saturday content drop lands with two new defenses: the Mortar (close range, lobs homing explosive shells at boarding enemies, needs open sky) and the Tesla Coil (chains lightning between nearby enemies, walls block the beam). Both upgrade via the Hammer with Tier III versions in the store, and destroyed defenses now rebuild themselves instead of disappearing. New progression: Blueprints unlock recipes by playing, defeating the Shark five times awards the Shark Head trophy, and sharks drop Shark Teeth. Inventory rework lets you swap between every owned weapon freely and collect weapon tiers in any order; the Sword rides on your back and the Gun on your hip. Also added: the Pirate Sword and Pirate Gun (the leaked runed greatsword ships as the Pirate Sword), tables, sittable chairs and flag banners. Balance: Harpoon range reduced for Tiers 2-4, gold from Floating Chests significantly reduced, and kill counts now save across sessions.
More update previews — pirate saber and shark trophy
Two more #leaks screenshots from the developer: the runed greatsword worn as a back accessory next to a mounted blue shark-head trophy on a wooden frame, then a raft interior preview showing purple squid-emblem banners, a sit-down table and new LOCK RAFT / Crew screen buttons.
New weapon leaked — runed greatsword
The developer posts in the official Discord #leaks channel: a screenshot of the player character carrying a large sword — silver blade with golden rune engravings, a golden ship's-wheel guard and a red grip — alongside three coordinate-like numbers. No name or release date was given; most likely a new weapon or back accessory for an upcoming patch (the promised Saturday slot).
Peak interest — map tease
Search interest hits its all-time high. In the official Discord #questions channel a team member posts a map emoji, hinting at map content in an upcoming update. Watch the next Saturday patch.
Daily patches continue
The Roblox games API "updated" timestamp advances again alongside the promised Saturday cadence — the dev is shipping near-daily fixes on top of the weekly content drops. No official changelog text is published for these hotfixes.
Small Midweek Update
Official Discord announcement: new user servers, new backpack visuals, hotbar order now saves between sessions (no more reorganizing the backpack every spawn), and bugs fixed with mobile building.
Viral takeoff week
Search interest jumps from baseline noise to real volume overnight as the first big gameplay videos land on YouTube (Giga Dash's 1 Hour VS 100 Hours raft build crosses 50K views within days). GameRant publishes the game's first codes roundup on August 31 and the first dedicated fan wiki sites appear the same weekend.
Badges arrive — Welcome and Meet Frank
The first two badges are added to the game on the same day: Welcome (You joined the game!, 100% freebie) and Meet Frank (55.5% Easy, no description). Both badge creation timestamps come from the official Roblox badges API.
Game launches
Raft Pirates launches Build and Defend Your Raft. The launch loop is published in the official description: collect resources, expand the raft, upgrade the Crafting Table, build defenses, then raid other players' rafts and steal their loot. New updates are promised every Saturday.
